Port of Brisbane Motorway

The Port of Brisbane Motorway was the biggest single road project under construction in Queensland during 2002. Innovative engineering solutions and a focus on quality resulted in successful project delivery ahead of time, well under budget and with minimal disruption to the environment and community.

The project included the construction of Queensland's first tri-level interchange. An additional overpass (not part of the initial brief) was designed and constructed in four months - a unique accomplishment for this landmark project that was delivered six months ahead of schedule and 10% under budget.

SAM integrated bridge deck and analysis and prestressed composite beam design modules were used for detailed design of bridges. SAM was also used extensively during the concept design stage to investigate alternative arrangements for structures.
