Module Title:
B.05 - Post-Tensioned Concrete Beam Design
Description
British Standards
This module defines post tensioned beams over multiple spans which may have any number of
cross sections, tendons and reinforcement. Reinforcement can be any shape or can be defined
to follow the curve of the bottom soffit. Tendons can be curved in 3D space to cater for
curved box beams. All losses in the tendons are calculated in accordance with the relevant
design code. Segmental construction stages can be defined. It uses tables of moment, shear
and axial load at various construction stages (including secondary or parasitic effects where
relevant) to calculate the actual stresses at SLS and plots these in comparison to the stresses
allowed by the relevant design code. It also calculates the allowable moments and shears at
ULS and compares them with the actual values. The graphical interface makes it very easy to
see where the beam is under- or over-utilised.
